Tim Gay (born July 9, ) is an American politician and broker who served in the Nebraska Legislature from to , representing the 14th legislative district of Nebraska. Our work involves studies of polarized electron scattering from atoms and molecules, the understanding of chiral and dichroic effects in such targets, the development of novel sources of polarized electrons and electron polarimeters, and investigations of the fundamental nature of the electron.

Gay's research interests center on the scattering of electrons by atomic and molecular targets and elementary particle physics. His research group, comprising two postdoctoral fellows, three graduate students, and four undergraduate students, is funded by the National Science Foundation. A former state senator and chairman of the Health and Human Services Committee, Tim Gay is and founder of Catalyst Public Affairs, a public affairs company representing over twenty organizations and companies.

While these are significant steps in the right direction, we still have more work to do to ameliorate the harm done by decades of discriminatory policies. The senators have long fought for equal treatment and rights for all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. Last year, they introduced the Equality Act , historic, comprehensive legislation to protect Americans from discrimination based on their gender identity or sexual orientation.

In , they helped pass the Respect for Marriage Act , which was signed into law to ensure that same-sex and interracial marriages are recognized by every state.
