And no, Legends is not what I am looking for, nor any place that plays the type of music they do. Originally Posted by Tarheelhombre.

Thanks Francois. It seems that RDU has an underdeveloped gay club and bar scene. I was amazed to see so few offerings. Are there any gay lounges, similar to Halo in DC, that are not necessarily clubs but very nice bars with music? I asked the one person I know who might have know about hip-hop places, and he said no. To answer your question, not really.
This area is MUCH smaller than DC and the population boom is much newer and much less urban, so of course our gay clubs are fewer between. The community here actually is thriving, but it's just not such a bar-going community, perhaps. The closest thing to a "lounge" other than the piano bar at The CC, which is a separate room with a piano-playing duo here is The Borough , a restaurant right near the bars in Raleigh that is gay-owned with a heavy gay mixed clientele.
Thanks so much. I might check out the Borough. We have reservations for Solas, which people tell me is the type of swanky place we will like. They say that they have a hot hip crowd, play urban music, and even have male dancers. I am going this weekend and will report back. Icon Nightclub. Last edited by Tarheelhombre; at AM..
And people say Cary is boring. Santa in a thong doesn't look boring to me! Have a good weekend! Flex is more of a "Bear bar", not exactly a hip-hop place!
